For those currently using Cochrane Risk of bias tool for assessing individual studies – listen up!. There is a new version.

The 2.0 version is similar to the one you are familiar with, however there are some changes that you might want to have a look at.

Some changes in the 2.0 version:

  • It now includes signalling questions that resembles that of the ROBINS-I tool
  • The domain on selective outcome reporting: the focus for this domain is now on how outcomes are reported (missing outcomes will instead be included in reporting bias)
  • In the new version, authors will have to consider if they are interested in the effect of starting and adhering to an intervention.

Cochrane training provides an elaborate webinar on the new risk of bias 2.0 tool here. You can also read more here.
